Powerpoint shapes are replaced with squares

I'm building a tool that will replace placeholders with thet pulled from an API. But I notice if i read said template all the objects or how you call it are converterd as richtextshapes and not as the correct shape (image, shape, text,...). Most of the stuff I can fix with a small thing but objects like arrows, circles, images,... is a bit more work.

The idea is that I only need to upload a template file and the tool does all the rest.
