I'm not sure it is entirely necessary, but GitHub keeps suggesting I create a free organization (and then move the repo there). It would also make this project a bit more open (I can make you all admins rather than just write access). I've not hosted a project here before, so I'm not sure what is the best way to do this. Maybe as this should be a one and done project it doesn't really matter to move it, as there isn't much admin work to be done now that access has been set up. It may help the hit by a bus scenario, but you can just fork the repo to keep history.
I'll read up on the organization thing but let me know what you think.
